Cold Weather Turns Reds Blue

It was a cold morning and there was some doubt as to whether the fixture would or should go ahead. Delaying the kick off time by 30 minutes was the chosen option, and after standing around for quite some time, it was the Blacks who got into their stride more quickly and the Reds never really got going all game.

On the balance of the game the Blacks deserved the victory - good luck to them in the next round (undoubtedly against Farndon?) A superb header by Dan Burnford put the Blacks ahead, and then a sweet volley by Conor Griffin equalised just before half time.

The second half was a stalemate scenario and before we knew it the penalty shoot out was upon us. The Blacks were clinical in their penalty taking and sealed the victory before the nominated penalty takers had completed their penalties.
